INTRO TO MECHANICAL VENTILATION

1.0 HR. (OC) Prerequisite: RESP 121 and 125 with a grade of C or better. This course is designed to introduce the respiratory therapist student to intermediate concepts of mechanical ventilation. Emphasis will be on theory and application, measurement of airway resistance, lung/thorax compliance, and guidelines for correct ventilator-patient interface. One-half lecture hour and one and one-half laboratory hours per week.
