INDEPENDENT STUDY

1.0 to 4.0 HRS. (TC) Prerequisite: Sophomore standing and department approval. Students work on a special problem suited to individual academic needs. A plan for the project including criteria for evaluation must be submitted to the associate dean/dean and approval for study obtained, semester hours assigned, and an instructor-advisor appointed prior to registration. At the conclusion of the project, a written report must be submitted to the instructor-advisor. This report will remain on file in the department. The transcript will show the discipline in which the work was completed. Repeatable up to a maximum of four semester hours total credit.
