HISTOLOGY I: GENERAL TECHNIQUE

Description/Long Course Title

8.0 HR. (OC) Prerequisite: BIOL 140, CHEM 120, CHEM 122, and BIOL 210 or equivalent courses with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.00 and department approval. This course includes an orientation to the histology laboratory and the instrumentation. Focus is on preparation of routine stained tissue slides, including tissue histology, and techniques for tissue fixation, processing, microtomy, and staining. Lectures and supervised clinical practice in a histology laboratory are included. Two lecture hours and eighteen laboratory hours.
